Let's face it..!

It's raining cats and dogs; mostly dogs.

Monday morning my husband got up and went to let our dog Abby out. He opened the door to the backyard and called me: "Navide, come see.."

In our backyard was a little miniature Dachsund, collar and all.
No idea how she got in there.
There were no holes in the fence, no openings big enough for her to get in, no holes in the ground.

I thought she had fallen from heaven, a gift from God since just a couple of days before I was telling my husband that I would never pay $300 or $400 for a dog, but that, if we ever got another dog, it would have to be a miniature Dachsund.
That was Saturday.
On Monday we found one in our backyard! (who says that Sundays are not "rest" days for God? ;-) )

Well, actually we did find out a bit more about her later. Our next door neighbor found her down the street and saved her from being run over. She looked around to see if someone was looking for her and, not founding anybody, she took her home and gave her a - needed - bath. The next morning she let her out hoping she would go back to her home.
Well, she didn't. And when the neighbor across the street from us came back home from I don't know where, she picked her up, told her husband "This looks like a dog the Navides would have" and put her in our backyard.
Thanks.
I mean, I am really fine with you putting her in my backyard, but wouldn't it be the polite thing to do to knock on our door and ask if it's our dog?
Ok, I do understand you don't want to bother us early in the morning, but when I found out all this it was already afternoon, you could have come to check sometime before that..
Oh, well, never mind. Just another reminder that I'll have to write a - long - post about my neighbors over the years...

Bottom line is, now we have an extra dog. She's got a collar and a name on it, but nobody has claimed her at the pound and there are no fliers anywhere around here with her picture.
I think we'll wait a few more days (we also put an ad in a paper) and then we'll take her to the vet (in fact she also seems to be in heat) and have her checked out (also for microchips.. a long shot around here, I'm afraid, but still...)

And if nobody claims her, I guess we'll.. keeeeeep her!!!!!!!!!!! Yeeeeeeeah!!!

And then I'll download a picture and introduce her to the blogosphere.

Che vicino carino... :-(
